There is no way that Audi would outperform the XM offroad..

At 2:10 the Audi S8 pushes the Peugeot 605 off the road and goes after the XM..

Then on 2:19 the XM flies by but is followed by the Peugeot 605 again... not the S8..

Hmmm... small fail. Best movie ever BTW.. ;)

Why... because the XM can lift the body? Wow.... :S

The Audi has awd.. the XM not. Audi has 340hp and XM 193hp.. You thing the Audi can't catch up on offroad?

....fitting in cars that we're now struggling to squeeze into, let alone get comfortable. And the fatter we get, the bigger and uglier our cars will get in order to accommodate us.

Something has to be done man.

Ectomorph huh? Never heard that one before.

Don't get angry, I'm actually agreeing with you. My comments weren't directed solely at Americans but at Westerners in general. You're right, Americans do have higher obesity levels than anyone else but we in Europe are catching up fast. And I actually think its an epidemic. When two thirds of the population are statistically overweight or obese, it can't be brushed under the carpet.

Face it dude. People of say 40 years ago would have no problem.....

No I'm an ectomorph (look that up) who has put on quite a bit of muscle. Even when I was skinny, however, because I was taller than the average Japanese person, I never fit right in their seats. My dad had the same complaints when he rode in them.

Your statements about Americans are quite ignorant. Americans are all shapes and sizes just like every other European-based society, they just happen to have a higher number of obesity rates.

.......the cars that are too small, its us that have gotten way too big.

In the last 30 years, we in the West have put on something like two stone! No wonder we can't fit into smaller vehicles!

I would say Ozzie cars are overall smaller than American cars but bigger than Euro ones. I haven't seen the Stats but I'd guess that Canadians are pretty fat too.

You say you're not that large but that is probably in comparison to other Americans. If you can't get comfortable in a car, other than something ridiculously small, then I'm afraid you're over-sized. I don't mean to be insulting mate because I'm carrying a bit of timber myself and its time we all woke up and realised, its not.........

... for their own high end luxury car to be marketed and sold exclusively in Japan and not America.

I do agree people's size is relevant, somewhat, but that would have more to do with the design of the dash, seat, and how far it sits from the dash. For example, I'm not the largest American, but I have a hard time being comfortable in every Japanese car I've ever sat in. Maybe some high end car is different, but then that high end car is heavily geared towards American buyers anyway.

This still doesn't matter as much, as Toyota specifically utilized Ford's Crown Victoria platform ...

Germans and Brits are the largest people in Europe and they still manage to drive what is in the best interests of the overall scheme of things.

Canada and Australia are also countries with large territories, the majority being of European ancestry and not known for being "fat", yet they drive the same exact type of vehicles as Americans. In fact, Australia is even more lax on it's pollution laws than America and Canada.
