Don't remember if I had the 78 or 45 but can't forget this song. What a great time for music. I just sand One Night,which was done by Wanda and Elvis too. Please give it a listen. Dan

I like the second verse, the fiddle and steel guitar, and Wanda is a good singer. But Linda Rondstadt has a better voice and her versions, along with a lot of other versions, are much faster tempo, which is better for this song in my opinion.

A movie of of Wanda's song on a 78 RPM portable player! It's a time machine taking us to the past. Its a wonderful song, and I agree Wanda Jackson did it best.

Skeeter is great in her own right, and she was a great innovator in the recording studio harmonizing with herself(a technique stolen by that piece of excrement Phil Spector). However Skeeter's version lacks the very important second verse!!

that looks like my first record player i received on my 11th birthday,in 1956.my first record was all shook up by elvis.record player was $10. 45s were $.98 i would shut until i got a record player.i was only able to buy 1 record a week.i almost wore then out playing them for hours at a time.

Dear wilmaohman, it's very nice to hear your words of that era, you was there, even if pretty young,maaaaan if i've had that opportunity to been there at that time, i've been workin 20 hr day to earn pay to get these original records of $0.98 instead of $200 - $2500 nowadays...
