A rather hesitant version of I Have A Song To Sing, Oh from Gilbert and Sullivan's Yeomen of the Guard. This is a duet sung by Jack Point and Elsie towards the end. The guitar is tuned to Open G (DGDGBD) with the capo of the 3nd fret.
@oldcremona Thanks very much! I really enjoy playing this tune. There's something very delightful about it, Gilbert and Sullivan at their best. And luckily for me, it works rather well as a solo guitar piece.
@gutplucker Thanks very much. Yes, very catchy and it's fun the way it's structured - each verse grows out of the one before with a little bit being added to each verse. I'm basically following the melody. I could probably do with a more interesting bass line, but that's for later ;o) Of all the songs by G&S this is probably one of those most suited to a solo guitar arrangement, but it would be better as a duet.
I come back to this video every now and then, to refresh myself artistically and emotionally. I just love how you express yourself with the song.
