During Alkaline Trio's set on Saturday, July 28, at the Warped Tour in Tinley Park, they debuted this brand new song and I was able to catch 99% of it (my memory card filled up about 5-10 seconds before the song ended). I've been told the name of the song is "In Vein."

You can see pictures from this show and plenty of others at http://www.myspace.com/colorsofinsomnia

And before anyone asks, here's what they played (roughly in order): Burn, Private Eye, This Is Getting Over You, Old School Reasons, In Vein (new song), Cringe, Blue Carolina, We've Had Enough

  • @antihiatus most people write songs before they record him

  • any one know if they recorded some new stuff? goin to see em in rock city soon, hope they play agony and irony with some oldies, there a bit poppy now but still love for the band

  • How can this be?

If they ust released this album?

  • I like the new record, it is a bit poppy, but a lot of songs on it sound like it belonged on "from here to infirmiry" which is amazing, they did a good job with it, long time Alk3 fan, and I enjoy it. And holy shit Dan is skinny here

  • What are people thinking of the new record? I'm a huge long time fan, but so far i'm not so sure i like it, which i hate to even say. I do like this song however, it just seems that overall the record is very poppy. I guess i think its a delicate thing getting the pop to punk ratio right, and i feel they maybe leaned a little too hard to the former. Maybe i just need to liste to it more, i just miss the days of loud distorted guitars and less production.

  • even though I love the recording, i wish the tempo was as fast as this

  • he probably has earplugs cause its loud as fuck and he doesnt want to permanently damage his ears

  • wow

    this

    was

    today

    lol

  • By the way; where's Dan's black-block maple neck? Is he mixing and matching again? ;)
