The Jews cried to have Jesus crucified.(According to the bible) Romans were the law in the area but Jesus didn't do anything against Roman Law. That's why Pilate washed his hands of his crucifixion. Jesus spoke against the Jewish laws of the day. And Pilate caved in to the mob to avoid civil unrest.

@justinmiley180 Neither of the two things you claim are facts are actually factual. There is no contemporary evidence for the existence of Jesus; however, even if he DID exist he did not incite a revolt against the Roman Empire.
Also, you criticize whoever you're responding to for not proofreading their post - you made five grammar mistakes in your response, so maybe you shouldn't be so condescending.

And the greatest message of Christianity--vicarious redemption. It doesn't exist. You are responsible for your own immorality. No one can take on your immoral acts for you. That is immoral. It is simply scapegoating, an actual practice carried out long b4 Christianity came along. In the end, it's just a lavender cloud of unicorn farts or as The Hitch states, "Man forged manacles of the mind." Free yourself by thinking critically for yourself.

@sopranoms Jesus did exist. he cause a revolution in the roman empire, that is fact. The question comes in whether or not he was the Christ, or the messiah and THAT is the religious question.
