@weswes666 Well, that's pessimistic of you. You don't think we can overcome genetic biases? A few hundred years ago, modern developed nations would have been an unthinkable paradise. We can make progress, I think.
Also, the point I was making is that the focus of his utopian thought was labor, similar to the thought processes of Marx. Utopian thought can be based on many foundations; an anarchist utopia is expected to differ from a communist utopia.

@WanderedIn no a Utopian thoughts in general end up the same. the Utopian approach to capitalism is no exception. utopias do not exist and we should never persuade them we should just enjoy the day and work to make the day after an even better day for yourselves and even more so for our friends and family. for it within our genes that we do not have a comprehensive understanding of a society bigger as 150 humans.

@ThePaulnessable The Zero series is actually pretty bleak, although unfortunately it is lacking in the rock opera department.

The Protomen are the incarnation of Epicness!

@Americanbadashh Well, Wily's an authoritarian dictator and technocrat; he's as much a fascist as a communist, and not really either. The mad scientist with robotic minions is pretty far outside of a historical context.
Light, on the other hand, is pretty clearly a technological utopian thinker, as he wants to replace human labor with machines. Which means his purpose is parallel to utopian communism, but all utopian thought centered on labor ends up pretty parallel.

I Listened to this song all day , Its so deep . Epicness incarnate ^^

I dunno this always came off as Anti-communist to, Willy uses money to advance his plans but by the end of the album it seems very much like a communist dystopia. He seems to be trying to lessen death in the world not lessen work.

Listening to this song and 'Father of Death' the other day I started thinking about Oppenheimer and his work in theoretical physics. It struck me how similar he seemed to the character of Doctor Light portrayed in the albums. Often described as the "Father of the atomic bomb (Death)" and immortalized by his translation of the line "I am become death". Like Light he helped to create something of fantastic potential for mankind only to see it twisted into a weapon of unparalleled power and fear.

I found the Protomen while watching Stu make pudding at four in the morning. I listen to both albums practically every day. Let's hope we get the next installment soon.
