This guy did not have to stoop so low as to break someones leg, crosscheck, elbow, or run people over to win. All those things were done to him by those who considered themselves hockey players, but actually would not have the right or the worth to carry his gear.
However the Russians did win the "Big One" in 79, with out him or Tret, which i guess proves that the rest of them were no slouches either. N/A's could only dream of such talent, & continue to pulverize, if you call that hockey....

It was tagged the "Series of The Century"....Just take a second & see if you can remember..OK take a little longer.
OK, back in 1979, the NHL & the USSR held a 3 game series in NY,(first odd # series between them). The NHL shut down for 2 wks, had the pick of the whole world, & used that privilege to use 2 Swedes& top N/A's.
after splitting 1&2, the Russians were 6-0 WINNERS OF GAME 3, with no "K" or "T"!

we straight up cheesed out hard on the summit series, the russians got the short end for sure. not to mention playing most of the series without this guy, they still had more goals for. wohooo go canada....

I agree, Bobby Clarke and John Fergueson should both have been charged with aggravated assault and put to F'g jail in Russia for a long ass time.

You see the USA are filled with just as much, if not more, propaganda than the Soviet Union used to be filled with.
Your people prone human rights, freedom, justice and peace. But, as soon as needed, the Governement just have to speak for the sheeps to wave their flag and follow the heard to war - a war in which they will take great care of taking down each of their ideals in name of Patriotism.
Sometimes it's easier to get blindfolded and point the man at your right for your errors.
