A video of me looking at my electric car under the hood. I'm trying to figure out how to build some kind of frame to hold the motor controller in place and maybe some batteries. If anybody knows anything about hooking power to the potbox (I heard I need a 12 volt 40 amp relay) please let me know. I'm also wondering what kind of fuses I need I already have one the electric car parts vendor told me I only need a fuse coming out of the controller, but I've heard I need one going into the controller too.

  • Thank you so much for your help. I think I might need a lot more help. I'm going to need a separate car battery up front to power the potbox. I have to figure out a way to get the ignition to turn the controller on. Stressed. I'm about to move from one apartment to another. Apartments don't like people working on cars, but this isn't a car, its the future.

  • I like your motor mount arrangement, nice and sturdy and utilising the lifting eye tapping on the motor, sweet.

My understanding of fuses is that you only fuse the battery side of the controller. I'm using a 500A ferraz shawmut semiconductor fuse on my car, these can be obtained from evsource (good guys to deal with). Keep plugging away at it!
