Once home to dockworkers and sailors from the nearby port, the neighborhood of La Boca is now a top tourist attraction in Buenos Aires. At one time the residents used leftover paint from the ship yards, as a result, the houses were multi-colored. It is said the tango was born in the backstreet parlors of La Boca.

The song is "Nostalgias" by El Nacional Tango.

  • It is very nice city FULL OF THIEVES and PICK-POCKETS.

DO NOT USE IN THE SUBWAY.

WATCH YOUR BACK AT ALL TIMES.

    CHOOSE YOUR TAXI DRIVER CAREFULLY.

    WATCH OUT FOR ARGENTINE INFLATION.

WEAR EARPLUGS. IT IS EXTREMELY NOISY.

    MOSQUITOS ARE EVERYWHERE.

    LA BOCA STINKS BADLY.

Some good advice. Most of it is applicable when visiting any large city.

  • @Avalon400 would you rather a sterilized shopping mall experience in Indianapolis? Your opinion is just that and it doesn't change the magic of that stinky and wonderful place!

A good way to hear Argentine Spanish is to Google internet radio stations from Buenos Aires. A good one is 92.7 FM. It's an all tango format, but they have news updates regularly.

  • @XjjdX
