Oh, and I thought I'd tell you. I don't think doctors actually take the Hippocratic Oath. They refer to it in medical school, but they don't actually take it.

We had to call the vet once to help a goat give birth. In was in the middle of the night, and he arrived drunk! We didn't realize it at the time, of course. We wanted to press charges, but we had no proof. He treated our goat terribly, and she and the baby both died. As he was driving away he nearly drove into a phone pole. It's so hard to find a vet that actually cares about animals.

@MyBrEatsCats ... Are you serious???? I would sue that horrible vet! Not only is it unethical, it's ILLEGAL. You did NOT give them permission to do a declaw on your cat!!

I'm so glad I live in the UK. I didn't know they did these things. Its especially scary about the medical insurance and changing what people say... the British NHS, slow though it may be, is a wonderful thing

omg yeah they do cover their butts. I just fired my family dr because of bull crap. As for vet's My parents vet Dr Noonan was awesome when our cat sandy went into seizures and then cardiac arrest after getting a clean bill of health 2 weeks before this... he did and autopsy without charging us a penny. we found out that someone had put rat poison out in cat food. He was 14 yrs old and very friendly. He died when I was 16 and i still miss him to this day

My cat scratched my vet because she was handling him roughly. She told me that he had to stay over night. When i came to pick him up, his claws were missing and his paws were covered in dry blood. It was her fault that he scratched her and I was pretty sure that ripping out my cats claws was unnecessary.

You're right. You're very lucky. My response to your other comment will shed some more light on our vet problems. But the cats are now well cared for.
