Stanmore: The Thundering Truth

Dear respected viewers and callers to truth and freedom:

The man that Usama Abdulghani is talking about, Shaykh Akram al-Majid, is the first teacher to embrace our Shuyukh (scholars) and all our students in their quest to seek knowledge in the Holy City of Qum. He taught them, respected them, befriended them, was a real brother to them and imparted to them various sciences and different types of subjects.

He is the one who opened his heart to them before the doors of his own house, day and night, and was like a kind father to them, a generous brother concerned about them and always enquiring about them.

And he continues to give to our Shuyukh as well as members of the community, and extends to them a praiseworthy character and strengthens their hearts with the firm rope of the pure Ahl al-Bayt (AS).

How much care this man has given and how much grace and goodwill he has extended! We have not met such training and sincere care, that which far supersedes any madressa and institute. However, when the Shaykh came to visit us in our hometown, to see how we were at home, and to further our knowledge, he was met with insults and slander, and accused of deviancy by the Stanmore Hujjat Centre, without having the decency to even meet him.

They did all this based on mere assumption and hearsay without knowing his state! Was it fair to welcome him like this? Should we not have reciprocated him with the same beautiful character and hospitality that he demonstrated towards us, to our Shuyukh and families?

As for Syed Baqri's speech, it is unbelievable how this man can speak? He is insulting well known people in our community with praiseworthy akhlaq, known for spreading beautiful words in different parts of the world. The person attacked, is a member of our community and has strived hard to gain knowledge and the divine sciences during his distance from his homeland and migrations in the cities of knowledge. This Syed has never even met any of the people he dares to slander.

Not only do this man's words insinuate deviancy and insults to those students. Rather his speech is a trespassing over the sunnah of the Prophet (saw) and the fatawa (edicts) of the ulama. And it is upon you to denounce this mockery and slandering.

"It is not permissible for a believing eye to watch Allah being disobeyed and close without first changing the situation." Imam Husayn (AS)
