NL-USA friendly soccer match - march 2010 | 2-1 the dutch win

The USA mens soccer team (voetbal) came pretty close in the end to almost playing to a tie in the chilly Amsterdam ArenA, which would have been the first time ever in the history between the two. (Why not close that roof!) The Dutch side out-classed the US on the field and that was often evident, but did they not play at their best level and will have to work more as a team toward the football world cup in South Africa later this early summer!

Good to see that Stekelenburg from the Netherlands can make saves when needed though in the last minutes! Tim Howard, the American keeper did a great job and honest is honest, both goals against them he could do nothing about.

Netherlands has a good chance of going far this World Cup down in South Africa. USA could too as an outsider, but as long as they beat England and Mr. Rooney, then I will be very happy!

@utatotoy100 the pitch is normal size, but when you sit in the nose-bleed section up in Amsterdam that is how it looks. (Better can give me a seat in the ADO Den Haag stadium any day!)

@pijnacker01 i'm glad some European people support the USA. I think we got enough criticism from Not only England but Slovenia as well. Yeah i was rooting for Spain to win it (I got family from Spain) But what I'm saying it, it seems like nobody in Europe wants the USA to succeed. I'm american and we are good enough to compete with the big guys....including Brazil, at times.
