I don't remember exactly, but it probably took an hour or two to make one of the levels, which I then copied in MCEdit to make the second level. After that probably an hour or so to run through and set all the pitches. I'm just learning to read sheet music so it takes me forever to get the right notes.
The one nice thing about the design is the ease of copying and extending the repeater chain, then filling in note blocks where needed, just like a sequencer.

It's not actually a very good design. The top and bottom parts (which each play one of the timbres) are only connected at three places so they can get out of sync. If I were to remake it, I would have it all playing from one chain of repeaters.

some of it is out of time but im not gonna troll about it, very nice, i wanna do zelda songs as if done by a piano but i cant convert the sheet music to notes, music was never my strong point

On the Minecraft wiki article on note blocks there's a diagram showing you how many times you need to click a note block to get the note of your choice. Very easy to use that. And yes, exact timing is difficult with redstone.
