@InflationUS Off topic here, but are you Philippino? (not sure if my spelling is correct there)
Are you from somewhere near Daly City? My husband's Philippino and from Daly City.
(BTW, we've had bad stories with US Bank doing things other banks don't do..)

IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY

@munozochago I wouldn't rule it out, but your Dad might have to keep working instead of retiring early.

the dog and pony show - you can't be worried about your dog and horse when you're already homeless and barely surviving

Ahhh, the famous American dream, it'd be funny if it wasn't so tragic. Fuck the Elite's.

@carlokrenzelak wouldnt have been homeless if the bank hadnt pretty much told her that if she didnt take out another loan she would loose her home. do you suggest she get rid of her child too?
-
well if you have a house thats paid for dont take a loan out on it and why would she sign anything before she knew what she was doing!

My dad, in Illinois, has a loan with us bank and they don't want to redo his loan given that he's lost 40k or more in value. He's retiring next year and will no longer be able to make payments. He said he just going to let the bank have the house back. So, are you saying that they can seize his retirement assets?

I am not sure i agree, did she get a second mortgage or something? Sucker into? You are an adult. You shouldn't go get loans you don't need. If you had you house fully paid for why would you get a loan out for it again. That is not wise. That is ashame you did that. Holy crap.
A way to make money. You give lots of people loans for a house. Then after they make payments for over 30,000$ you create the economic collapse and the people lose. Those years of work for nothing. Slavery. You make houses that are so big that they must work for 30 years plus in order to buy them. Don't make small affordable homes! Get people so caught up in keeping up with fantasies that they have no time for their families. Undermine society while you make money. Set up mind games for people 2

So you had a house, free and clear, they "forced" (ramrodded) you into a loan that you didn't want (?), they sent out an appraiser who over-appraised your house by lying about the condition to get you more money that you didn't object to (?) and you agreed to the terms of the loan. The bank sold your mortgage to a service company who were difficult to work with because they wouldn't let you skip out on interest and penalties (you were already behind) and this is all someone elses fault? WTF?
