Elbow to the head or not, you have to admit that Gillies hit Clutterbuck in the head and that Clutterbuck was injured on the play.
I am also pretty sure that there is a rule against hitting someone who is not playing the puck.

I don't see the elbow to the head. I see a glove to the head and a two minute penalty. I don't get how the refs called that, but didn't call Clutterbucks hit.

Clutterbuck's hit: only from behind due to Dibenedetto misplaying the puck. He did his best to try not to hurt the guy.
Only possible call-boarding.
Gillies's hit: relentless, to the head, from behind, with fists up, when your team is up 3-0.
Roughing + Charging + Interference + Elbowing + Checking From Behind = Stupidity and Suspension.
Islander Camera Angle: looks okay.
Wild Camera Angle: CLEARLY a dirty cheap shot.
Clutterbuck deserves to be the hits leader in the NHL.
