  • VY Canis Majoris is the largest in terms of VOLUME.

R136a1 is the largest in terms of MASS.

Therefore VY Canis Majoris is the LARGEST in terms of VOLUME and R136a1 is the LARGEST in terms of MASS.

  • An instrument called : A very large telescope.

    LOL!!

  • @7781kathy i think your brain is as big as Einstein

  • @ancientswordfighters dont you know solar winds?

  • what if VY Canis Majoris is our own star in the solar system and the Earth is sa big as the Sun

  • He said wind? I didnt think there was wind in space

  • IT IS GOING TO EXPLODE IN A MILLION YEARS.the bigger the star, the less lifespan it has.our sun is going to die in estimated 5 billion years.so do not worry.god will make up a new life that will be much better when the time comes.

  • VY Canis Majoris Is considered to be the biggest known star until 2010,NASA has discovered a new massive star-R136a1.This Star Is a Blue Hypergiant,& it has a solar mass of more than 300,

yet the solar mass limit of a star larger than the sun is 150,it seems it was doubled by R136a1.

such exceed limits of 150 is very rare, yet only R136a1 got past a solar mass of 150.

Please like if you already knew it.To say, VY Canis Majoris < R136a1

    Thanks for putting likes! :D

  • VY Canis = Marshmellow. This star would literally tear right through the center of it. If they were orbiting each other Canis would be getting eaten.

  • @TheNessteea You are one of the smartest people I have ever met on youtube :) Absolutely true!

  • @OctoberLifeImages so if you say nothing you are closer to the truth
