http://www.66express.com Here is the Hollywood-style ROVER 75 (Chinese call it ROEWE 750) commercial in Chinese TV. The sales has started nation-wide on January 31 year of 2007 and commercial is playing on national CCTV and other important media.

The national sales order for the first two week
rocket to 3211 even when the nation-wide sales network is not built up completely. Now the order volume is stable at the number of 300 for one day.

SAIC is third-biggest automobile manufacturer in China boasting 15 billion USD sales volume 1.5 million vehicles for 2006 and is one of the FORTUNE world's 500 companies. SAIC benefited a lot from Chinese booming automobile business starting year of 2004. Now China has grown up and exceeded USA to become the world's biggest auto market at the begining of year 2009. After merging Korea's SSANGYONG Motor and Rover, SAIC is gearing up to China's lucrative up-level full-size car market segment.

One of the key elements for SAIC's looking-good start of ROVER 75 sale in China is Rover's good reputation in China. Car from Great Britain is usually regarded by Chinese as luxury for a few like Rolls Royce. And ROVER represents a culture of noble and royal soul. And this is also the selling point addressed and emphasized by SAIC all through its commerical and promotion.

Will Rover 75 succeed in the long term? This depends on the quality and reliability of new ROVER 75.

The Chinese subtitle translated into English as following:
There are only two ways in the world: one is the past behind, another is the future ahead; there are only two cars on the road: one is to pass down the generation for a long time, one is to inherit the glory and open up a future.
Innovation inherits and creates a glorious future.

  • Oh no, this is worse than I ever imagined i've had 2 Rovers (an 800 and MG-ZT) I loved them both, but this is a joke.

In England's green and pleasant land, a Chinese built abomination carrying a Rover badge, what do they think we are? I don't have anything in tweed, own a shooting stick or hunt Fox's.

I will e-mail George W. Bush straight away and tell him that Nanjing Automobile Group is a terrorist group who plan to bomb the USA, with any luck he will blow them up.

  • What 'workforce' ... the british haven't had a bloody 'workforce' since Leyland f*cked things up! Thanks to the bloody british 'workforce' this beautiful car was killed of by the germans and a handful of british frauds.

  • @jimbobcuk I'm having a hard time understanding why you can't see this commercial as a compliment to England instead of an insult. The green and pleasant land is a lot nicer than mess it is now :-)

  • Its a very cute car... Maybe i'll buy it soon...

  • @crazygamble just import a rover 75 from the UK its much better looking and better built and very cheap, its basically the same car as well.

  • chinese products/brands are okay, but wats not ok is dat they copy or clone other type of product. it confuses a lot of people and its not good. its like copying someones paper of an exam.

  • @chaboman I do feel rather sorry for rover, as if you look on wikipedia, you should see how far they came, just to be knocked on the head by a bowling ball, ;-(

  • Well, we all know MG & Rover are dead, in heaven, and dwell in the happy hunting grounds of the beyond. Do we need to visualize it. The opening is perfect, Rover sunk underwater.

China buying a brand name and "lifting" the engineering specs from Longbridge doesn't continue a tradition, it just shows us what the Chinese do best, knock offs.

Corporate structure and communism is a marriage made in the back-room of glass building called the "office box".

  • what? what happend with rover?

WHAT A RUBISH COMMERCIAL WITH SUCH A CAR (ROVER) this ? what? what is this?

  • Well everyone has their own opinion, Britain don't have their own car Company/manufacture, but they have best engineer designer for performance car, as what I know that British economic can not be massive production trend in now days, and it would get best economic profile, instead as own the superior techniques. And provide high profitable service, which is the way Britain transforms to. And we have known that most F1 racing car built in Britain. The British design team work for BMW...

  • prove me wrong if I make any mistakes. first, does Britain still have a car industry? second, why dont u just buy the design and brand back? third, do u make enough money to afford one of these cars? LOL, sour grape theory is fully demonstrated by u here. way back in time, "superior" caucasians said the same thing for japanese cars, guess what? japanese cars are beating the shit out of white cars nowadays. feel embarrassed?

  • Many of the problems owners experienced with head gasket failure were brought about due to poor servicing. If you check the oil and coolant regularly, any serious damage can be avoided.
