@bigmig54 Richard talked about rewards in motivation 3 of 9. Using rewards doesn't transfer to liking what they are doing. Once the reward is gone they won't want to do their math like they did when they had a reward. They aren't getting any intrinsic value out of it

Student learning should be motivated and rewarded with a savings account that is performance based. It could be a significant source of motivation. Financial reward would be a long term compounding tool to motivate and inspire participation and effort.
