  • That was probably her. She's out in the Quehanna quite a bit. Very knowledgeable about the area.

  • @tetonterri Haven't been on the trail yet this year was down on laurel Run for a quick overnight that's summer has my time occupied now.

I don't konw about the water at this point. The sign I saw says the following: "Attention Quehanna Trail Hikers. There has been an industrial incident in the area. It is recommended surface waters (springs and streams) are not used for potable use. Moshannon State Forest 814-765-0821 DCNR Pennsylvania, Department of ....." Just wanted to give you a heads up; might want to call them prior to your next trip. Water might be contaminated; filtering might not work.

  • @tetonterri Ok don't wear snake chaps seen 2 rattlers so far and I saved the number to call they had the same sign hanging on the register at the parker dam ranger station The last I heard was they ran test and water was not effected but that was in June when It happened thanks for heads up

  • Do you know about posted signs on QT in certain southwest portions re: do not drink surface/stream water (due to gas well blowout in June off McGeorge Rd)? I have seen one posted where QT crosses Knobs Rd. Very disturbing to me.

  • @tetonterri Was day hiking the QT this weekend signs are still posted ranger said water is still polluted, another reason to stop drilling on state forests grrr

  • @tetonterri I ran into that woman while hiking on the west cross connector this weekend, didnt catch her name though. Enjoyed talking with her!

  • A-OK. You're a brave man! I'm not a brave woman! In doing some maintenance on QT, a friend told me that she was struck by a rattler. She was weedwacking; didn't see it, but her gaiters did their job, she said. It was lying right by the trail, a mixture of yellow-black phase.

Yes the QT is beautiful. Well, enjoy your hiking this fall, and hopefully a new video will be produced as a result!

Yes, I had watched your 5-part series filmed in the spring, which I enjoyed very much. I was particularly interested because I had walked last week the section from Caledonia Pike to Saunders Rd. (did a shuttle with a friend). Do you wear snake gaiters? I would recommend them in the warm months.

  • @tetonterri I have another video or should I said videos with myself and fixedbydoc we hiked the week of the gas well explosion and didn't know it happened till we got back to ranger station fortunately we filtered are water at safe sources we did parker dam to wykoff road so I finished the trail did the 20 mile connector trail earlier in spring but will go back it's a great trail system
