If any of you viewing this really want an objective and truthful analysis of Vietnam as well as basically all other US foreign policy, go ahead and review the works of Noam Chomsky, he lays it out bare. It's hard to admit truths, that's the nature of truth. But if you're a seeker of it, you'll find it in Chomsky's analysis. Youtube search him...he'll give it to you straight and with sources...unlike Horowitz.

5:49 : the "communists" didn't win...other nations saw what would happen to them if they tried to reach for democracy. They saw what happened to Vietnam and Cambodia, and Laos...and in a very real sense, the American's won the war. They were able to prevent any other nation in "Indo China" from trying to pursue democracy. The message sent by the US's war in Vietnam was that if you attempt to pursue democracy you will be bombed back to the stone age.

how could someone who was once a "communist" possibly be against the left if he weren't honestly the "real article"...hahahaha, he's a fuckin' fraud...says whatever is convenient at the time. When "communism" was the thing, he was all for it...when it slowly lost relevance (for specific reasons) he traded sides...call it "reconsideration"...call it what you will...he's sold himself to the highest bidder, in monetary terms or in ideologic terms...same thing. He's a fraud to both sides.

Clearly you chose to only read the first comment. Don't lampoon me for allegedly not addressing Horowitz's arguments when you have just proven yourself to have the attention span of a goldfish.
