that's true, but at the same time, it allows for a wide variety of 8-bit renditions..

I agree 100 percent. 80% of remixes and such on YouTube are actually people taking midi files, dropping them into Sonar or something similar, then loading them into new sounding VSTs and changing the tempo... Like ugh. No creativity, no technical prowess... nothing... A monkey could do it.
