This exercise will improve strength in the thumbs, also exercises the crushing grip and the wrists. When pinching it sometimes fail because of lacking strength in the thumb(s).

  • The closer to the end of the barbell/hammer/whatever pipe you grip, the more force you need to apply to execute the exercise.
