Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495 Exits 68 to 73) eastbound

The Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495 - commonly known as the "LIE") is the island's only east-west interstate highway, making it among the most important and congested highways in the NYC metro area. It links midtown Manhattan with eastern Suffolk County.

I'm from the midwest, but have to travel Long Island quite a few times a year for work and it's difficult to explain to friends and family back home just how large of an Island this is...sometimes it can be a pain to simply travel 5 miles, especially during tourist season. I headed back there tomorrow...but am cheating and taking the Cross Sound Ferry from CT!...so much less stressful!
