@centurion180ad i know, thats why i said all that, i was explaining why there was almost no resistance to Coalition armored columns driving into baghdad. but we really should never have invaded Iraq. the WMD was bullshit fed to an all to hungry people, there are written records and people who have told the US that Iraq dismantled its chemical weapons and scrapped any programs to make more in the years following the first gulf war

Iraq forces were unprepared to defend their Baghdad Perimeter. What equipment that was in their possession, was misused. Iraq flew nothing during the invasion.

@centurion180ad Iraq's military was actually fairly well equiped during the first gulf war, they had an airforce to rival many 1st world countries in the west. but a fast shock and awe campiagn devastated their air craft within the first few days, the remaining air craft were deemed combat ineffective or to valuable, so they were hidden, or taken apart. Iraq doesnt get credit it should for its air force, and also, remember they had been at war with iran for YEARS, so they had experienced pilots.
