Man Shot To Death On KC's Northeast Side

A 52-year-old man was shot to death on Kansas City's northeast side late Wednesday morning, police said.

KMBC's Bev Chapman reported that the man was shot to death in an entryway of an apartment building at Windsor and Mersington avenues.

Neighbors said they saw three men running from the building. Police took two men into custody a few blocks away from the building. Officers said they are searching for a third man.

The victim's wife identified him as Ricardo Jimenez. She said her husband was visiting a friend who lived at the building when he was shot.

Jimenez and his family live a block down the street from where the shooting occurred.

Jimenez leaves behind two adult children. His wife said he was a hard-working mechanic and a good man.
