  • dont know much bout Entwhistle...correct me if im wrong , but i think he concentrated solely on bass-playing..NOBLE indeed...but Jack 's a wee bit more than just a bass-player. He writes the songs , sings them , arranges the music , and leads the bands. hIS BASS-PLAYING IS OUTTA-THIS-WORLD..(And i love the fact that you can hear the influence of his classical traning thru his bass...)

  • jack was a better bass player than roger.

    roger still kicks ass though.

  • fucking nice voice

  • They were and are both great bassists, their technique was strong, their context different. Jack was a Jazz player, John was more classical/pop - end of argument.

  • @janeythebrit as far as bassists go, John is by far better than jack. But musician ship, feel for the music and a sense of groove all go to Jack. Its really tricky to say who's better, honestly...

  • @janeythebrit - Jack Bruce once said of his classical training - "it took me about 4 years to unlearn everything they taught me before I could truly solo" - but you are correct - he is technically just so good - one of my three all time favourite performers and a huge influence on the genres I now enjoy because he crossed so many.

  • Outstanding. Jack is My bass hero

  • Amazing man love him

  • @coopdaloop07 Of course.. needs to be auto-tuned and beat-detected. THAT will "fix" this.

  • cool bass lines, kind of sounds sloppy at some points, piano part at the end is sweet

  • @Martiluk1 my guess is Sting was listening, don't you think ?? One would hope he did.

  • @Drblooter99 AND...moves in and around and dances with the beat....floating like a butterfy, etc. NO ONE like him. There's been Jaco clones, but no Jack clones. No Entwistle clones. No Paul McCartney clones. I count myself so fortunate to grow up with his sound.

  • How can anyone sing and play this ... oh yeah , and write it ? Is that Graham Bond in the background near the end sequence ?

  • So excellent comments here that nothing to add about the skills in bass, singing, composing. I also am impressed of the intensity of his performance, with such strength and sensitivity at the same time. Also, I watch this because Jack looks so divine. I am charmed also of his looks.

  • Wow! Where you find so good version of this concert?!

  • Cream couldn't contain Jack Bruce. Sorry, but Clapton could never hang with this. He needs one chord and 4/4 time.

  • as the hippies used to say...this blows my mind.....

  • this arrangement is excellent. love it.

  • Great how he can sing hard while playing complex bass lines, and never misses a beat.

  • Jack was a jazzman which requires more grey matter.

  • I would have killed to see this 39 yrs. ago...He never ceases to amaze...I wish you could've seen Graham Bond in this on the organ , He was'nt with us much longer after this show.
