Bill Evans made some pretty neat Nitro Powered flying wings back in the day and I've had many of them. My favorites are the Astron 40 X Wing and the Simitar 540. Mine is one of the last Fiberglas fuselage Simitar 540's that he offered. Those fuselages are now extinct and very rare. Plans and wing cores are still available at the address below. Enjoy the sights and sounds as I recap some of the History and how I got involved with Bill Evans back in the '70s. I am flying this in his honor and to my Dad who recently passed. Dad attended the Multiwing contest with me a few times. Also I tribute Hal Wickman who was a good friend and also recently passed. We built two Simitars together. His survived and I will fly it in this video for him and my Dad.

Best regards.

  • You look a lot older than 10 years old in that photo. Good old time photo shot with the smoke in the mouth.

  • @UtRadioGuy Thanks, I think! Now I am 63 and everybody says I don't look that.....but....I feel it...LOL.

  • Dave if I were younger I would love to have you as my Crazy Uncle! Blue Skies to you! You are an inspiration to many.

  • fantastic job Dave, looks and sounds great, flies even greater, keep it up and fly hard !

  • @Trentaur Thanks so very kindly for your comments.

  • @UtRadioGuy Your right, It takes so long to charge batteries for 1 or 2 flights. I just keep gassing this one up and flying. There is a certain beauty to that for sure and for staying true.

  • @flyingchimp99 Haha. Actually we flew these in the dark before years ago with Chem lights taped on. I may do that again this summer for sure.

  • @WildBobsRC HI Bob, Yes it really scoots. Jeff and I flew it again yesterday and I leaned it out even more. It is exhilarating to fly and is fun to have a plane that can penetrate wind for landings. Thanks for getting me the deal on this engine. It is a good one as all OS engines usually are.

  • @hypothesies1 Thanks kindly, now go clean your room!. Lol JK, JK.
