@TehMangoMan I guess he's assuming that your opponent is just an average guy, not someone who has a lot of fighting experience. And even if he does get his guard up, you'll still smash his wrist and take him to the ground.

why would the attacker have his left hand down and behind him? If he was actually going in for an attack like this, he would have his left hand guarding his jaw, which would protect him from this counter.

Hey! Speak for yourself, I'm strong enough LOL. Good point though. The problem with this (and most stick fighting) is that you're never going to have a stick in a combat situation. A stick like object sure, but not a straight, rigid piece of rattan. So you're "stick" will have limitations based on its material and such. I like having people use car aentennas, rolled magazines, umbrellas, rotten branches, etc. so they can deal with stick breaks, flexation, and other problems.
