I recently found this VHS footage of the burning of the Salem Armory and Masonic Temple (see next clip) on the same day in February 1982 in Salem, Massachusetts. I shot it with an early version VHS camera and outboard recorder over the course of two days. The arson scenes were at two downtown locations within blocks of each other. The facade of the Armory stood for several years until it was partly demolished. It is now the site of Armory Park and the National Park Service downtown Visitor's Center. More info on the Armory here: http://www.salemweb.com/history/armory/story.shtml
I remember staring at the building every morning on the bus on my way to school.
Now I live 2000Miles away and have 2 kids of my own :( Miss the old days.
