Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this video!! My mother bought the soundtrack to this film and we listened to it OVER and OVER when I was a child (and I memorized the words but didn't have a clue how naughty he lyrics were). It's beyond wonderful to finally have a visual and GOOD LORD is this not obviously one of the finest bits of film ever made? I must own a copy!!

Joan Collins singing...no wonder it was Rated X!!!!

Actually, her singing is not bad. Very Marlene Dietrich half talking half singing, but perfectly competent.

The film has some interesting moments and songs...you just have to wade through the rest of it.

the Egyptian in Hollywood had a screening of this a few years back. I doubt it had been seen on screen in nearly 40 years. And--sadly--I doubt it will be seen for another forty.

@boobievontrapp Hello, I sooo agree with you. I've only heard of this film & was only shown a clip of it last week. I'm falling in love with it.

I hear that the only DVD availabe is a bootleg copy a poor quality as this clip? The production value is very high from what I've seen, though sadly the film bombed when released.

This film contributed to Joan & Tony's divorce, it was all to close to the bone for Joan I hear. Perhaps its time to re-review this largely forgotten movie.

Does anybody here know what a Merkin actually is? It adds a whole new dimension to the title character once you do... It's good to finally see some of this film after many years of listening to the LP.

I have long desired to see this film (after hearing this song, actually)...I never imagined said song would be proceeded by an astrology ballet, "Polyester Poontang", a puppet double armed with a cartoon talking bubble, and Anthony Newley's rather charming buttocks.

Joan's lyrics at the part when you know he's naked (about 3.45) would substitue perfectly in the rhyming part ("chance", etc.) with the lyric "newley's arse". I know, bit cruel.
