Our goal, through the Charles Tabaka Memorial fund, is to create more awareness on the dangers of substance abuse in the Central Wisconsin area. Substance abuse isnt always about overdose. Both can be devastating to the families in which they occur. We plan to create this awareness by giving scholarships to area students accepted into a two or four year college or Technical school. Each year, in order to earn the scholarships, we will ask for the students to help us by creating essays or posters on the subject of substance abuse. The rules for each year's challenge will be posted in the schools where the scholarships are offered. We would also like to assist and support programs that promote substance abuse awareness in our communities such as S.A.D.D. , M.A. D. D. and D.A.R.E. just to name a few. Too many lives are taken too early due to substance abuse. We believe it is important for the subject matter to be brought out into the open. Through education and awareness we can all build a better tomorrow.
