look here the thing. You NEED 3. you can use 4. you need 3; 2 guitar and 1 drum, but you can control the mic settings by using the drums. you can use 4 if YOU want to control the mic. Either 3 or 4 works.

well, if you are playing on expert you have to hit the note exactly and if you are playing on easy you can hit the note much easier... that means you can sing a bit higher or deeper and it still hit the note on easy... look at the first chorus... about 1:35... if he would play on easy he had hit the notes....
