My new Quadrafire 3100 Millennium woodstove, which I installed myself. This is its first fire (carpet scraps underneath are temporary to slide it into position). Ceiling still needs finishing/painting, and the hearth trim is not yet done, but otherwise, ta-da!
PS--This woodstove throws off more heat after 45 minutes than my old Vermont Castings insert did after 3 hours, and uses comparatively little firewood. I am delighted with its performance.

  • Good job. We have one also . How long does yours burn I know some people that have one and swear by it and others swear at it .Seems like we are adding a log every 3 or 4 hours . Unlike the ads say 9 hours burn time .

  • @zzz1249 I think your burn time will depend on where you set the front and back air intakes. I keep both at their max open settings, so our wood burns fast with a nice bright flame (and the glass stays cleaner). So a log only lasts 30-60 minutes. You can make the wood last longer by cutting the air, but then it's not much fun to watch (just a charcoal glow, no flames).

  • @zzz1249 I think the "9 hours" claim is for a full load of wood on a medium-low air setting, not just one log. We're really happy with the performance of this woodstove. We get a lot of heat from each log, and the big window lets us enjoy the flames.

  • The stove is the center of entertainment.. So much better then a TV...

  • @WarcraftHermit That's right! This is a TV-free household, although we do spend an awful lot of time with our laptops. :-)

  • Looks like it alfully close to the wall on the corners. Hope not.

  • @pbr2424

It is close, but it's an inch farther from the wall than the manual recommended. (I was very careful!!!) This model has very close clearances thanks to its insulated construction.

No, I used double wall stove pipe inside. I used no sealer inside, but I did use silicon sealant on the vertical chimney seam outside.

It IS a fabulous stove! I've been enjoying it almost every day after work. Great view of the fire, and awesome heat output. Enjoy yours!
