  • Holy crap! 5+ Our Universe is symmetric, and I once again was convinced of it

  • 1) Crop CIRCLES are rarely symmetrical.

    2 )This occurs with SOUNDWAVES.

    3) SOUNDWAVES cannot travel through space.

    4) If sound created crop circles, people nearby would almost certainly be deaf.

Yet another reason they teach physics in school.

  • This is not proof of "god." You're all really stupid. This could be proof of something else you are all unaware of. However, this is just physics at its best. You only believe in "god" because that is what some human said thousands of years ago and you all ran with it. They could have said "I believe in a giant chair in the sky" and it would be real because everyone would believe in it. Oh look, I just turned this into a religious debate! Whoops!

  • yet we are to believe under evolution all this happened by chance? shoot god is a superior designer

  • Actually, this has nothing to do with sound waves. What you are observing are the modes of vibration of the plate (search wikipedia for Mode Shape). As an object vibrates, some areas move more than others. The sand is drawn to the places that aren't moving. There are often multiple frequencies at which the object will resonate. In this case, as the frequency is increased, the mode shape changes.

Still... the video is a very cool demonstration of modal vibrations!

  • i see it,and i believe it.

  • hey are you able to tell me what you've done here? I'm very interested in acoustics and want to try this and similar experiments :)

  • I vaguely remember watching a documentary about this and how these shapes can be found around the World in certain religious locations etc. Great stuff. Does anyone remember the name of that documentary??

  • r.i.p. speakers and ear drums

  • i now believe in god.
