The same 3D roundabout movie but shot with 1 camera ... same film clip used twice. Would appreciate comments on effectiveness of technique. A much better quality version is available here ... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=HNheggjWPNA&fmt=18

  • Was this done with a standard camera or a 3D cam 3D looks as good as anything else I've seen.

  • A single, ordinary camera ... so both scenes are identical ... but one is delayed by 1/15th second :)

  • since this is a stereo frome one single camera and there is almost no vertical movement you will not see the missynch - so this is OK from the missynch point of view

vertical misalignment is not present when all objects move exclusively horizontal or camera is moves horizontal - if there would be vertical movement there will be misalignment but his cannot be corrected since the shot was done only with one camera.

  • Now I'm very confused!! No vertical movement therefore no sync problems? Surely we are mixing up sync and alignment here? And as far as I'm concerned, there is a fair amount of vertical movement within the scene ( wooden horses rising and falling ) which you would say is misalignment, and yet it is still comfortable to view.

  • good one .since taken with one camera 3D is still good, only steereowindow needs to be pushed back

  • Your comment here makes me smile :) Here one video is set to play 1/15th second before the other and yet you do not mention a sync problem!!!!!!! I would also love to know how you would set the vertical alignment when the scene in each still is slightly different.

The stereowindow problem is easily sorted by clicking the HQ link in the info panel to the right.

  • I was watching a documentary last night and the camera was on a boat so that the scene, a landscape, travelled left to right. This created a 3D effect.

The video here is of a subject moving left to right.

  • Always impressive. 5 stars. Will share. Subject matter lends itself to technique, yet can by widely applied.

  • Amazing. I had no idea something like this was even possible.

  • interesting experiment. I guess the downside of this technique is the relative non-abundance of merry-go-rounds in everyday situations.

  • its easy to view for my eyes and the depth seemed good.
