@TheGISAMURAI That's the same deal for Beetlejuice. In the movie, his name is clearly spelled Betelgeuse. Alec Baldwin even pronounces it incorrectly, how would the audience know it sounds like "beetle juice"? Why, make the title outright say "Bettlejuice" of course!
So yeah, I agree with ya man. Kids wouldn't understand the who lack of vowels and everything. So, just make it easier for them and put an "a" in it.

Has anyone considered that the misspelling of Cthulhu may simply be due to the fact that this is a kids show and Cathulhu may be easier for kids to read? I disagree with the person who said it may be due to Lovecraft's work not being public domain when this was aired for the obvious reason that there are quotions from Lovecraft in this episode.
Kick ass episode.
