Epic Fail: Mortal Kombat 2

I recently got the Playstation 3 version of Mortal Kombat 2 via PSN. A great game that appears to be arcade perfect. But that doesn't mean it isn't frustrating as hell. What you're seeing here is the SNES version, which appears to have the same incredibly cheap AI. Just about every move they do has priority over mine, they can see projectiles coming light-years in advance, and they are ridiculously aggressive. The best part? That's on the EASIEST difficulty setting. Or maybe I just suck at Mortal Kombat -_-

Now I will say that part of my total suckage in this video is due to my controller; for example, parts of where you see Shang Tsung flailing around like a drunkard is where I was trying to do his flame skulls. That's also attributable to some of Sabin's failed Blitzes in my FF6 videos. Still, even my well-working PS3 controller was no match for these guys.

Hate to say it, but I think you suck at MK Jade. No offense. :P

Now, you did alright with Cage, but you got stuck with what many consider to be the best character in MK2: Jax. Let's face it, you'd be hard pressed to beat Jax if you don't know what to do.

No kidding. Here's one thing that sets Mortal Kombat apart from Street Fighter without the blood; the computer does NOT screw around. I was able to beat Mortal Kombat 1 for the Genesis mainly by exploiting Sub-Zero's freeeze move, but that did little good against Goro. It took me a LOT of tries until I finally beat him. I also have MK: Armageddon for the Wii, which is probably my favorite of the bunch so far.

You like that abomination of an MK game? I have that for the PS2 and after a few weeks, I was bored with it. I would rather play Deception, which was a far better game then Armageddon can ever be.

Well, I'll say this; I don't like how they did the fatalities in Armageddon. And there's little to nothing to the endings. But at least I can play it whout getting a brutal ass-stomping this consistantly ^^

I'll admit, I probably just suck at fighting games in general. Yet I keep going back to them, be it Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Smash Bros, or Soul Calibur. I guess I'm a sadist.
