@jamaulbrown because the World Bank wants to own the country. simple as that. there are about 4 countries left that have not fallen in line, and two of them are Iran and North Korea. so, guess where the bankers will be going next, eh? Iraq and Afghanistan are simply the latest. additionally, propaganda has painted the Taliban as the 'bad guy', when the main interest of outside powers is to maintain opium production. the Taliban want to stop drug trade altogether, and banks don't like that. so...

160 000 soviet real warriors were in Afghanistan and they could not defeat it. Sending 30 000 more soldiers will just increase the Afghan resistance and the amount to Taliban partisans. Help can be brought thorugh educating Afghans and investing in their economy, not through murdering and exploiting them.
