Learning Latin with Virgil is a new and original Latin video series. I hope to bring you engaging, effective and regular lessons to enhance your knowledge and enjoyment of Latin. In this series, the emphasis is on understanding the Latin you read, not on translating it. The course centers around the characters and the stories of the great epic work of Virgil, the Aeneid. You may like to check out the sister series, The Aeneid of Virgil, also available on the TuTubusLatinus channel.

  • Unfortunately it's not Latin... only English with Latin words. Have you ever red a Latin grammer book?

It's not "poeta ad Romam navigat" but only "Poeta Romam navigat"!

It's not "poeta in Roma est" but "Poeta Romae est"!

It's not "poeta a Roma navigat" but "Poeta Roma (Ablativus) navigat"!

These 3 sentences are absolutely wrong. The other one is only bad stile. It is: "Roma urbs Europae est!"

  • Good Point. I guess it would be an easy fix - just change the example to another location such as Troy or Italy. When I get the chance I'll upload a new version. Thanks for taking the time to point it out to me.

  • damn it! watching this makes me want to learn latin seriously, doesn't seem as hard as learning nippongo or japanese.

  • Excellent! In that case, I hope this course can help you reach your goal. Good luck.

  • You gotta work on the pronunciation of "nauta" which is pronounced as "naruta" almost every time. But great video!

  • @MrEuplokamos it's not incorrect, it's just bad taste.
