ZIMBABWE is a beautiful country with a turbulent history, but tourists are starting to return - especially to the spectacular Victoria Falls where the Zimbabwean side offers unsurpassed views of the "smoke that thunders" discovered by David Livingstine and still one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Hwange Game Reserve offers a great safari experience, whilst the Great Zimbabwe Ruins in south central Zimbabwe continue to amaze observers. Kariba offers house boat adventures and tiger fishing, whilst the abundant wildlife of remote Mana Pools remains undisturbed. Although many lodges require re-furbishing, Zimabwe is slowly opening up for business again.
