I've played Ben Bernie and Maceo Pinkard's 1925 classic, "Sweet Georgia Brown", for getting on for 40 years, in different keys and in different styles. It's like a favourite child - sometimes it behaves itself and sometimes it's an awkward little devil. But I always have fun with it!

In this version, I'm playing it a s solo fingerpicking piece, in C voicing, capo'ed on the 2nd fret, which puts it in the key of D.

  • Hi Will, sounds perfect down in Cornwall on a wet old October night - a glass of red and the clip brings a smile. Well done indeed. I sorta did a copy of of your "iz you or iz you aint my baby" - minus a few twiddly bits. Great fun to work it out . Keep it up. Bob.

  • @satdoc27 A glass of red wine sounds good - I've had a couple myself this evening - plus a couple of large brandies to follow. Enjoy the music! :-)

  • Will, what's playing through the headset you're wearing? Thanks

  • @longbordz Oh, they're just small earphones I use to monitor the signal coming from the mic - so I can hear exactly the sound of what I'm recording as it's being recorded. :-)

  • Wonderful playing......guitar tone is great..........Darrell

  • @w1dvf The guitar was made by a local luthier and long-term friend, Ian Chisholm, who lives in Ditchling in Sussex (UK). It's the 18th numbered guitar he made, so I call it "Number 18"... :-)

  • Very nice -- liked your 'Brother Can You Spare a Dime' as well -- actually I thought it was awesome! I play "with" a guitar as opposed to "playing" a guitar. I look forward to checking out your entire site. Great job & cheers & Happy Christmas from Canada.

  • Hi, just listened to some of your vids. Very nice playing.

    I sub.

    Cheers, Frank

  • Great tone

  • What a pleasure listening to another of your great videos! Good job, Will. Very well done indeed.

  • Absolutely infectious, the way you enjoy playing that song.

  • Will, I love listening to you play. And speaking for that matter. But, then I'm a Yank who's a sucker for an English accent.
