Here's four arpeggio exercises over the common minor II V I progression. Two in A minor and two in D minor

Notation, tab, and backing track all available on the "lessons" page of my website: http://timrobinsonguitar.com/

  • I really enjoyed this lesson. By any chance can you post up a video of how you're picking when you play certain gypsy jazz licks? I'm looking at your technique and it seems a lot different than normal alternate picking.

  • @VillainsvsVillains I'll try to do a video sometime. In the meantime do a search for "gypsy picking", it will give you an insight into the technique used. Glad you enjoyed the lesson!

  • Hey man I love the sound of that guitar!

What is it? I have been looking for a nice nylon string.

  • @JazzGuitarMusicClub The guitar is made by Godefroy Maruejouls. It's a steel string guitar!

  • Brilliant Tim-I am actually going to get the finger out and learn some lead stuff, or at least try to. What songs would you play these over? I'm guessing maybe Aniversary song or the like?

    Cheers again

  • Yes any tune that has that chord progression in e.g. Anniversary Song, Douce Ambience, Minor Swing, Blues en Mineur, Swing Gitan... songs like that.

  • Hey Mr.Tim can you tell me where can i find something to learn how to build jazz chords?

  • Please play in time .

  • @thrip THANKS!

  • its having a diminished licks hehe

  • This is really good. I like this.

  • @JazzGuitarMusicClub FYI: You can get a Selmac with nylon strings... E.g. Saga's Gitane DG-560 Lulo Reinhardt Signature Nylon String. But they are the rare exception rather than the rule.

  • What about a Selmac makes all of these people think that it has nylon strings? I don't get that at all.
