The flight scenes all looked and sounded terrific but the rest of the movie wasn't good at all. The US trailer showed nothing but the flying scenes. I Now I know why. :(

If you`re having any doubts that this isn`t worth watching, you`re mad. Mad as a mexican`s dog. It`s one of the best anime movies I`ve seen.

@WildSeven0079 Big battles tend to be that way. My Great Grandfather was a flight engineer on a B-17 back in the Big One. He didn't talk about it much, but this movie lets me understand him and what he did say a lot more.

This is one of the best anime movies I have ever seen. It was so immersive, I just liked the whole feel to it. The only thing I didn't like was that the big battle scene was confusing.

@bobel2007 No, this film is too hard for most of the people. They want to see battle scenes, that's why American trailer was all about them, but they don't actually get the real meaning of this piece of art.

Naw, I had reasons for not liking it. At least the CG parts were worth watching.

The non CG parts were VERY dull. Dark, undetailed, too shadowy. Speech was minimal and awkward even in Japanese. Storyline & plot lacked background info to make sense. Between the smoking fetishism, the hound dog, the music box, and the female chorus, it's as if I'd seen this anime before. Mamoru Oshii doesn't need more signatures than Quentin Tarantino.

Ghost in the Shell is the only movie of his in my best list.
