LOL, that was a long time ago! My performance went really well, some people came to me afterword and said I was the best "Mother" they'd ever seen in a small theater company. Even though I had to do that last show in a walking boot because I had a broken ankle! We were all joking that I was the one who should have had the crutch :-)
Thanks so much for your kind comments. How did your performance go? I sang this role over 15 years ago and had not seen it until now. I do hope you get to see your performance much sooner. It's a wonderful fulfilling role and I always cried at the end.
Thanks so much for your kind comments. This is the first time I've ever seen this performance and it made me cry. I sang the mother almost 15 years ago for Barbara Elliot the founder of this company who has since passed.
This don't make no sense how beautiful.. goodnight has become. I sung this with the infamous Show Choir of Ellington in Washington DC and Its amazing how tears still form in my eyes after so many years.
One of the best I've heard...I'm going to be singing this role this Christmas and listening to all I can find on Amahl and the N.V. - thank you for a wonderful interpretation of this emotional portrayal of what a mother will do for her child.
where can i get the sheet music? i need this for an audition. thank you :) wonderful, by the way

This scene cuts JUST BEFORE one of the best parts- where Amahl rushes to the defense of his mother!

Do you have the entire opera? If yes, can you post the remaining parts? This is the best version on youtube. Thank you for posting.
