Short video featuring the CAF Dixie Wing's pride and joy, a Douglas SBD Dauntless. Our SBD is one of only two in the world still flying. Our P-51 Mustang might be more of an attention-getter, but the Dauntless is our real pride and joy.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless served with distinction during WWII. It is particularly well-known for playing a pivotal role at the Battle of Midway, where US SBDs sunk three Japanese carriers outright and damaged a fourth badly enough that it had to be scuttled.
