  • @pianoman1984 (in the post previous to this one take the spaces out of the link

  • @MrCecilDover

you can read about that on the following page:

    mechanicalmusicpress. com/history/paganini/ppag14 .htm

  • I have to say this is a really terrific-sounding orchestrion, and thanks for the great post! The expression effects, phrasing, and tremolo are wonderful! The arranging is top-notch! Thanks!!!

  • @pianoman1984 Yes, Paganini ORCHESTRION (with drums and things). There are a few smaller paganini violin pianos (with and without keyboard) around which are largely, or entirely, original.

The monstre paganini in the Krughoff collection is a re-creation by the Mechanisches Musikkabinett staff using some original Paganini orchestrion parts found in amongst the stuff of a collector/hoarder in Hungary. It is more a sensitive re-creation than an exact replica since no original monstre is known.

  • Magnificect Instrument, If this is the only remaining totally original Paganini it would be interesting to know its history and how it came to the museum?

  • Yes it is Model 14]

  • The 3rd piece is 'Who (Stole My Heart Away)?'. From 'Sunny', by Jerome Kern, Otto Harbach and Oscar Hammerstein II, c.1925. George Olsen and his Orchestra had a million-selling hit with the song, in that year.

  • This is a Philipps Paganini orchestrion (model 14 I think) the only completely original paganini surviving

  • Thanks. What's the instrument, please?

  • cool! My dad has a book on dance band arranging written by Arthur Lange
