I had the same problem. You probably have figured it out or even have a new phone by now, but there are four silver hex screws holding the board on. pull them out and the board will be free for you to clean underneath. I used a slot screwdriver because i didn't have the special driver. Hope it helps. Good luck

Pull very hard on the top. it should loosen alittle. it's ok to take it off because it will slip back in. by the way, if u break your phone, i'm not responsible for your phone, so iyou break it it's not my fault.

thanks for the tip. busted mini lcd. wasn't sure how to open. i'd try removing screws.
