The Pergamon Museum in Berlin also houses the gates to Babylon. This is a brief view of the main gates and entry way. There's also the Islamic Treasures special exhibit - which I got some pictures of - at:

  • wow! If that's so...I mean, that`s beyond words.

However, google the word "babylon"...you'll find some pictures of the original gate right there on Iraq...maybe they removed it and are now traveling with it...I read that the war is damaging alot of archiological findings.

  • I also know that this is not the complete thing - so, to me that means that perhaps it's one side or something that they removed and then they constructed part for the exhibit. I will note that the Pergamon (when I took this video) had a huge exhibit on treasures of Islam but now the exhibit is gone. I haven't been back to see if the gates are still there.

  • is this the original Ishtar gate? or is it just a replica? I think the original is stil in Babylon (which is located in Iraq,91 kms of Bagdah).

  • From what I understood from the brochure it was pieces of the original gates. My german, admittedly, is terrible however.

  • It really is - the color is a luscious lapis lazuli blue that looks like something out of the carribean. Be sure to check out the Greek Entry way from the Pergamon temple too - this particular museum is really awesome - I think I will go back.

  • I agree with the person before me. The one in Germany is THE REAL Ishtar gate and the one currently in Iraq is a replica, and as much as I would hate to say this, but yes, its good its in a museum in Germany and not being ravaged by some asshole American teenagers who think they're tough cuz they're killing civilians with their m16s

  • it is not stolen fro iraq,as Iraq was still under Osman Empireal rule, here was an Agreement that the Gate was to be brought to Berlin...because only Germany had the Financial Basement and the scientific Knowledge to rebuild and to

    preserve the Gate.

When it had still been in Iraq during the last Gulf wars...where would it be now?

  • IMPRESIONANTE! las civilizaciones antiguas construian con el alma.

  • This is an exact replica of the original. The real one is locked-up somewhere. It's too sacred to the interested party to have on display. Im quite sure it couldn't be seen by anyone else other than the elect class and the priesthood.

  • @calangodoido apparently hitler dug it up in iraq, there was also a chair, supposedly the devils chair which hitler usd to sit in and get his power from or so he thought, the chair is at the museum but kept out of sight.

  • I am from Iraq and i tell you the original one is in Berlin not in Iraq

  • assholes stole everything

  • @SirianKings ,The Pergamon Gates is The Seat of Satan, look it up !

  • @RebelRouserMC

Says the idiot who was programmed in the church all his life.

  • @ManelinhoAraujinho Whether it's true or not, the Jews, who created and professed the first abrahamic religion, had a better reason to abuse Babylon: Babylonia was their worst enemy on the political stage, the enemy that destroyed their temple and took thousands of Jews into captivity, thereby causing a crushing blow to the "god's chosen" people.

  • Such a beautiful gates!!

  • seat of satan
