King Kong was the first network Saturday morning cartoon that was done in Japan. It was produced by Rankin-Bass, who farmed it out to Toei studios. The middle faeture, Tom Of T.H.U.M.B., had character designs by Mad Magazine artist Paul Coker Jr.

GTFO, Kong!

"was"?

Wrong, it's from Rankin Bass productions, with the voice actor for Rudolph, Billie Mae Richards, in the role.

Is this that early anime stuff?
60's japanimation was always fascinatingly bad.
