Augmented Reality Game demonstration: Augmented reality card game based on the popular series YuGiOh

This project was done as part of my University degree at AUT in New Zealand.

The program I used is Unity Pro with an AR plugin.

I do know about PS3's Eye of Judgement. I did this project to please the fans screaming out for a Yu-Gi-Oh version.

Feel free to email me at ar.yugioh@gmail.com with your queries and fan letters.

  • you cheated!

  • YES.... NOW ALL WE NEED IS SHADOW GAMES..

    Agree?

  • keep it up

  • yes this wouldbe awesome on vita

  • on a screen or with glasses on this would be awesome..

  • @gbatemper123 no -_- look at psp vita

    /watch?v=kEMDgvfFUcI&feature=related

  • @gbatemper123 its already on the psp vita, psp vita is the new handheld play station with a quad core :)

problem is that the yare still developing new games for its AR feature,

  • blue eyes is supposed to be destroyd by mirror force. lol

  • @gbatemper123 Also, the camera's needed would be VERY expensive.

  • @gamerboy244 Theirs several problems I see with that.

First of all, it would take a lot of processing power, you would need a high end pc but it is possible.

It would take a ton of work to make the software recognize every yu gi oh card, it would only be feasible by a algorithm which it would recognize off the image files, which itself would take a long time too, and may not be accurate.

  • @gbatemper123 can't we make the card's original artwork be recognized by the pc? I've seen some video's of it, so It might be an option. it would save people from having to buy all new AR ready cards.

  • I really hope someone can make this work with the PS vita's AR system.

  • Thats frkn awesome! i want that!

  • << real life duel disk project

  • Awesome however i gotta say (i dont know if this has gotten fixed or not since it's been 2 years since this video was uploaded but whatever) Mirror force destroys all the enemies monsters not just the one attacking. Sure it's a minor detail but still i just mean that if you are completely serious in creating a virtual yu-gi-oh game you should have all effects done right before releasing the game so you wont have to do all that work after releasing it. everything else is awesome!

  • he said that when someone makes it better and makes alot of money hopefully they hire him... why not just try yourself? or at least copyright the idea so you can be like kaiba IRL :P

  • @Raz0rIG

Yeah ! you will be able to play it with augmented 3d reality glasses rather than to see what's happen on a screen !

  • Graet worn man. Keep it up

  • wow, my childhod brought to reality... it was a great surprise to see this the characters even attack to each other... keep working on it please...

  • this could work with the ps vita

  • @stethespaniard2 Yu gi oh is not complicated.

The only problem I see with this is integrating AR cards into Yu gi oh cards without taking all of the cards art space.

  • its a great idea but with yugiohs complicated gameplay would never work

  • If this becomes a huge thing i would love to see if for Magic the gathering. That would be sweet

  • wow i fallen in love
